The fruit grows wild throughout Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Burma. Other countries with minor cultivation include Thailand, northern Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Egypt, a few Caribbean islands, and Surinam. Bael, also known as the “Wood Apple. The bael tree is considered to be sacred to the Hindus. Bael fruit has been known for its medicinal values since 2000 BC.
  • Bael fruit is on the whole regarded as the best of all laxatives. It cleans and greatly tones up the total intestines. Its regular use for two or three months throws out even the very older accumulated faecal matter. It should be well if possible taken in its original form and before at dinner. About sixty grams of the fruit are well sufficient for an adults The presence of tannin in the bael fruit helps in curing diseases like diarrhoea and cholera.
